On November 9, 2019, students from Learn4Life Antelope Valley Learning Academy in California traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to present their QBOL Blueprint to Success at Heinz Field. Students presented to former Pittsburgh Steelers and Super Bowl Champions Rocky Bleier, Randy Grossman, John Banaszak and Mike Wagner as well as other Steelers organization representatives.
The following day, these thirty students, teachers, and administrators got the incredible opportunity to attend the Steelers vs. Rams game and were treated to a tailgate tent on Rooney Avenue where students got to meet former Steeler Chris Hoke.
These students earned this experience from their successful participation in a 12-week Beating the Odds class along with a research project on the Pittsburgh Steeler organization. The trip was a capstone event as a part of the Beating the Odds Foundation’s resiliency course.
As a part of Learn4Life’s TREC offerings, BTO focuses on student leadership and goal setting. The students perform research through the project-based course as well as set goals using the Stepping Stones to Success.
For 30 years, Beating the Odds Foundation has been telling the stories of individuals like Rocky Bleier and organizations like the Pittsburgh Steelers. These stories, that we call Quarterbacks of Life®, provide the Foundation’s Blueprint called the Five Stepping Stones to Success.
